- Bovina Historical Society
The Bovina of 1995 was formed from parts of Delhi,
Stamford, and Middletown by an act of the state legislature on February
25, 1820. The name, Bovina, comes from the Latin word bovinus, meaning
cattle. It was suggested by Gen. Erastus Root because it was a pioneer
town in the dairy industry.
Bovina Center Historic District is a national historic
district located at Bovina Center in Delaware County. The district
contains 133 contributing buildings and one contributing structure. It
was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000

Rosie Szyszka, Artist
The initial evolution of the forms and the peripheral tension
in my art is the central focus in my work. My work with models is
influenced by my love of the great masters of the Renaissance. My work
reveals the influence and affection that I feel for the classical
figurists of the twentieth century, such as Gustav Klimt and Pablo
Picasso.
